News Release

First Wave, Inc., premier provider of multimedia interactive displays, will be exhibiting their in-store kiosks designed to bring e-commerce into the retail environment at GlobalShop 2000, in Chicago, Illinois. First Wave will be demonstrating solutions they have developed using their Kiosk Communicator software and features computer technology from Apple Computer, Inc. and touchscreen technology from MicroTouch Systems, Inc.

"The Kiosk Communicator-powered TouchStation is truly a 'click-and-brick' solution," said John Glitsos, First Wave CEO. "It creates an interactive retail experience that can not be duplicated by an Internet-only merchant or within a traditional store environment."

Within the Kiosk Communicator solutions demonstrated by First Wave, Apple Computer and MicroTouch, retailers can leverage the infrastructure of their traditional bricks-and-mortar stores with the convenience and one-to-one marketing afforded by the Internet. The multimedia e-commerce station increases a merchant's available inventory without requiring additional physical shelf space. It also gives customers a uniquely interactive in-store shopping experience with the option to browse, select and purchase products electronically from an expanded product offering.

Kiosk Communicator is the first simple, quick, reliable and inexpensive software system for developing and operating interactive multimedia displays like TouchStation. With its robust digital audio and video capabilities, Kiosk Communicator brings touchscreens to life, whether in a standalone, local area network, or Web-enabled configuration.

The show will be at Chicago's McCormick Place March 25-27. First Wave, Apple Computer and MicroTouch will be in booth #1656, GlobalShop 2000 Centerpiece Pavilion - "Stores of the Future", as well as booth #4768 in the Instore Interactive Ideas Show.
